AMAYAA – An Art Society is a cultural platform in Guwahati dedicated to learning, practising and presenting Sattriya dance while creating meaningful connections between heritage, artists and the next generation.

Our Story
A home for disciplined learning and living tradition.
AMAYAA was established by Sattriya dancer Antara Goswami to make Assam’s classical heritage approachable, meaningful and enduring for young people.
Through regular training, focused workshops, cultural programmes and stage presentations, AMAYAA encourages every learner to develop technique, confidence and respect for tradition.

About the Founder
A practitioner shaped by learning, performance and teaching.
Antara Goswami is a Sattriya dancer and the founder of AMAYAA – An Art Society. She completed her Visarad through Asom Satra Mahasabha under Ustad Bismillah Khan Awardee Smti. Seujpriya Borthakur and continues her training under Shri Pravakar Dev Goswami.
A Graded Artiste of Prasar Bharati (Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati), she carries forward the legacy of her grandfather, the late Dr. Jagannath Mahanta. Through workshops such as Angahar and cultural events, she creates space for younger generations to learn and celebrate Sattriya.
